Breaking out of your Comfort Zone & the HIIT Logic Mascot
Your comfort zone is a behavioral space where your activities and behaviors fit a routine and pattern that minimizes stress and risk. It provides a state of mental security. Routines can be stable and comforting, but they can also turn stale and confining over time. Doing something new and potentially frightening helps stave off burnout and is good for your brain. In addition, when we break out of our comfort zone, we learn, grow and see real progress in our goals.
It’s important to sit back and evaluate your goals in life so that your routines don’t become burdensome and mundane. Working out and remaining active takes real effort; if our workouts were easy, everyone would be doing it. So, how can you break out of your comfort zone at the gym, re-energize your WHY and continue showing up for yourself?
- Sign up for our in-house competition– FIT FEST! We know that the word “competition” in itself sounds intimidating. The goal of this competition is showing up and finishing. It’s essentially a longer, larger HIIT class where you can safely test your boundaries and challenge yourself. In addition, you have the opportunity to meet other members at our Redmond and Tumalo locations that have the same interests, goals and aspirations. We are confident that you will walk away from this experience with sweat and a smile on your face. All proceeds go directly to Bend’s NPJ 12U Volleyball Club and their tournament entry fees and travel to nationals in Indianapolis. To sign up, follow this link.
- Talk to your primary coach about what movements you can challenge yourself on. Have you always done burpees off the box and have noticed an increase in stamina? Maybe it’s time to drop to the floor for one or two rounds. Have you been using the pink kettlebell for swings since you started? Maybe it’s time to move up to blue. Look at your goals, evaluate where you are and seek advice from your coach.
- Come try a Cycle HIIT class or sign up and commit to adding it to your routine 2x a week. Unlike HIIT, we also offer a Sunday class. If you Sign up on the website at www.cyclehiit.com or let Jon and Katie know.
HIIT Logic has continued to open new locations and has big goals to grow. To live our vision and remind us of our WHY, HIIT Logic has a mascot, the lobster. In a lecture by Dr. Abraham Twerski he states “Lobsters are a soft mushy animal that has a rigid shell that does not expand; in order for it to grow, it casts off it’s shell…the stimulus for the lobster to grow is that it feels uncomfortable… times of stress are also times that are signals for growth. If we use adversity properly, we can grow through adversity”. To listen to the full clip, click here. We are here to grow with you and support you during times of adversity. Keep showing up, working hard, and crushing your goals.
